Roman Holiday
Our weekend in Rome... a mix of old favorites and local spots.
We spent Shane’s birthday last year in Rome… one of those perfectly spontaneous weekends (+ one of the many perks of living in Budapest at the time) that somehow feels both full and slow at the same time. We based ourselves in Monti, one of my favorite Roman neighborhoods, where cobblestoned streets twist between cafés, vintage shops, and restaurants. It’s walkable, charming, and just slightly removed from the tourist bustle, which makes it ideal for a weekend like this… somewhere you can arrive, drop your bags, and feel instantly settled.
Below is our 48-hour Roman holiday… a mix of old favorites, local spots, and a few new finds, with my Google Maps at the end.
