What I'm booking for clients, personal travel, on my radar, what I'm packing, and everything in between.
Hi! Welcome to “CHECKING IN” - a series where I’ll cover what I’m working on, where I’m traveling, recent hôtel critiques, what’s on my radar, and more. I hope to share inspiration and details on unique destinations, honest reviews, mini-location guides, a little bit of fashion, and a little bit of everything in between. I personally love getting to know the people behind the business, their interests, and what goes on in their world.

Planning | What I’m currently researching and booking for some of my clients:
A 15-day Italian Honeymoon: From city, country and coast. Some of the iconic hotels we are looking to book are Belmond Caruso in Ravello, Mezzatorre Hotel & Thermal Spa in Ischia, Rosewood Castiglion Del Bosco in Tuscany, and Grand Hotel Tremezzo in Lake Como. For the other locations, we are dotting the itinerary with a few boutique options to give them more flexibility on locations, dining, experiences and a little shopping.
A hotel-only booking in the Dolomites of Italy. You’ve probably heard of Forestis or caught glimpses of its iconic views from the rooms and world-class spa. There’s a reason this hotel is at the top of my list to visit.
A full-service trip design to Melbourne in 2025 for the Australian Tennis Open, sourcing tickets, flights, accommodations, curating experiences, and dining for non-event days.
A chic bachelorette getaway at the Ojai Valley Inn, filled with spa treatments, wine tastings, fine dining, and local experiences. A mini guide on Ojai - coming soon.
A birthday celebration in Oahu at Turtle Bay Resort, a classic 5-star resort in the ultra-desirable North Shore locale.
A few other destinations in the beginning phases of planning: Portugal, Tokyo + Kyoto, San Sebastian, Greece, and a multi-stop trip in France.
Hôtel Critique | A part of my job is constantly traveling, vetting new hotels and restaurants, maintaining a curiosity about airlines, and providing insightful feedback on destinations. Recently, I traveled to the Caribbean for a work trip after celebrating my 30th birthday in the British Virgin Islands (more on that later)!
Destination: Saint Martin and Anguilla, a blend of Caribbean charm and luxury on two stunning islands. Saint Martin boasts a vibrant culture and beautiful beaches, while Anguilla exudes timeless elegance and tranquility.
Flight: La Compagnie Business Class—For this seven-day trip (Sunday to Sunday), I decided to try out a new flight route with La Compagnie starting in the fall from Newark (EWR) to Saint Martin (SXM). The highlight? Their all-business class seats rival those of major airlines. What impressed me was the serene atmosphere—complete with calming music and essential oil-scented ambiance—that greeted me upon boarding, akin to a spa.
A few facts:
Each passenger is allowed two checked bags weighing up to 70 pounds each.
These seasonal flights will start on November 24 (Sunday) ending in April (specific end date to be determined).
These flights will be sold as a 7-day Sunday-to-Sunday package, currently priced at $3,000 for a round trip. One-way options are available, priced at $2,000.
My hot take is that it's worth it when flying during peak season or holidays. However, I also understand the value of airline loyalty and sticking with what you know.
Accommodations:
Belmond La Samanna: (Saint Martin) This resort offers a perfect blend of luxury and relaxation. Highlights included a wine & cheese tasting at La Cave, an exclusive experience guided by their sommelier, and a world-class cellar. Additionally, they offer rum & chocolate tastings, cigar-rolling workshops, and private dinners.
Belmond Cap Juluca: (Anguilla) This property epitomizes Caribbean soul and timeless luxury, occupying the entirety of Maundays Bay, considered the best beach in the region. Each evening, guests are treated to a memorable sunset champagne sabering event, seamlessly transitioning your experience from day to night. Notable mention: Every room offers oceanfront views.
I highly recommend these hotels to anyone seeking a tropical escape with a touch of quiet luxury woven into the experience. La Samanna exudes a younger vibe, offering a plethora of water sports and various catamarans in the bay. Though the rooms may appear a bit dated, the breathtaking views, exceptional restaurants, and top-notch amenities more than make up for it. On the other hand, Cap Juluca feels like a secluded private oasis, catering to travelers who desire everything at their fingertips without ever having to leave the property. With their new spa opening and unique dining experiences set to be unveiled this year, the perks keep adding up.
Traveling | After celebrating my 30th birthday on a catamaran with close friends in the British Virgin Islands, I headed straight to Anguilla and Saint Martin for a work trip.
Next on my agenda is Palm Springs for Stagecoach—I love country music! Then, Paso Robles for an engagement party and wine tasting galore, followed by another stint in Palm Springs for a friend's bachelorette bash, where I'll be revisiting the Parker Palm Springs. Finally, I'll wrap things up in LA at a special event for my husband and stay at The Beverly Hills Hotel- an iconic spot with a lot of history.
On My Radar |
Eat: La Renommée has captivated my Francophile heart. This speakeasy-style restaurant, established in 1823, is a recent addition to Paris' 1st Arrondissement. Situated in a historic building on Saint-Honoré, it marks the first venture outside the U.S. for the team behind Au Cheval and 4 Charles.
Sip: Gem Wine, recently visited by Kactus.Jpg, is a chic wine bar tucked away in NYC's Lower East Side.
“It's easygoing and welcoming, while the chunky candles and woven seats make it feel grown-up. The lighting is turned down to a sexy wattage, but it's not so dark that you’ll struggle to decipher the 20-page wine list without a pair of readers. And while you could get just a glass of wine and some sourdough bread and butter, the seasonal dishes here are worth dipping into too.”
Stay: My phone is brimming with screenshots, Instagram saves, conversations, and notes about hotels that are next on my list. Some have been lingering for quite some time—like Belmond La Residencia in Mallorca. This longing was further ignited by a post from Tori Simokov of Window Seat featuring Kayla Douglas, who has visited for the past three summers and uncovers a new layer each time.
A newer addition to my list would be Hôtel du Couvent in Nice.
Do: A luxury Egyptian Nile Cruise on Nour el Nil. Their dahabiyas, which are traditional Egyptian sailing boats, provide a unique blend of authentic architecture and modern luxury. Nour el Nil gives a unique and immersive experience while retaining the charm and authenticity of traditional Nile cruising.
Here’s a sample itinerary of their route.
Packing | My next trip is to the desert for Stagecoach, and I’m currently packing:
Vintage cowboy boots sourced and gifted to me by my future sister-in-law
This black fringe tube top from Zara paired with my Levi 501 black shorts and snakeskin boots
A vintage Coors Cowboys t-shirt that I thrifted
A chunky silver beaded necklace similar to this one
Mid-waist ripped straight-leg denim and a white belted halter vest
A variety of my Monday Swimwear bikinis for the afternoons in the pool and this Janessa Leone bucket hat for some additional shade
I love having a crisp white button-down handy for a cover-up or an added element to an outfit (i.e. over a work-out set for a coffee run)
My sister recently gifted me an Iris av Emma waffle toiletry tote monogrammed with my initials on it that I’m so excited to use
…along with a suitcase full of other outfit options, my go-to beauty products, and travel essentials.
Listening | I have been loving listening to this playlist- It’s perfect for a drive with the windows down, a long walk, cooking dinner, and hosting friends.
Reading | I just recently started a book club with some of my girlfriends in LA, and it’s been great to have a line-up of books ready for travel days. Since we began, we've read:
Remarkably Bright Creatures: an easy read and a light-hearted story exploring friendship, reckoning, and hope, tracing a widow's unlikely connection with a giant Pacific octopus.
The Only One Left: a murder mystery (my favorite !!) about a woman who takes a job caring for elderly invalid Lenora Hope, who was accused decades ago of murdering her parents and younger sister. She slowly unravels the truth behind the Hope murders and a missing nurse. So many twists and turns which I really loved.
First Lie Wins: *currently reading* a twist-filled psychological thriller about a con artist/thief fighting to keep her identity a secret. It tells the story of Evie Porter, a con artist whose real name is Lucca Marino. “Evie” has been hired by a mysterious employer, known only as Mr. Smith, to infiltrate the life of a young, handsome businessman named Ryan Sumner.
Thank you for reading & I hope you enjoyed it. Please bear with me as I navigate the content, cadence, and approach! Xx
Was barely a third of the way through this and was already so overwhelmed with how much incredible inspo is in here, then come to find out I even got a mention!? I'm honored 🤍✨
